Bishop Murray Nursery & Primary School, Lafia

Bishop Murray Nursery/Primary School Lafia came into existence on the 7th day of September 2006. It was a bright, beautiful and sunny day to God’s glory. It was a colourful and wonderful occasion.

The school is named after the Late. Most. Rev. Dr. Joseph Donald Murray who founded the Sisters of the Nativity. He had special love for education and human development amongst others things.

On September 2006, eight children were registered into the school. Four teachers were employed, but only two reported. Soon after, eight children were in Kindergarten, four children in Nursery II and four children in primary one.

The school received kind donations for its infrastructures. The Late. Rev. Sr. Rosemary Mamman worked tirelessly in acquiring foreign funds for the structures of the school. May her soul continue to rest in peace, Amen. Rev.Sr. Rose Idoko S.O.N the first Head teacher of worked hard also to set the ball rolling. By the grace of God, their hard work is not in vain as the school is growing from strength to strength.
